GDPR statement for Events

Jachtclub Scheveningen, Hellingweg 98, 2583WH, Den Haag processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant privacy laws and regulations.

Registration and Organisation

Jachtclub Scheveningen processes the following personal data of the entrants so as to enable their participation in a competition (carry out the participation agreement):

  • first name and surname
  • RWA national licence number
  • email and telephone number
  • banking account number
  • boat name and class type
  • sail number
  • date of birth
  • number of passport or other means of identification

These data are processed to register individuals as entrants, to manage race entries, to communicate race participation, to collect registration fees and to carry out other common activities relating to the organisation of the race. Jachtclub Scheveningen holds these personal data for 3 years after each event.

Race Results - Entry Lists - Protest Information

Jachtclub Scheveningen also processes the race results, entry lists and protest information for organizational purposes and to carry out the participation agreement. The race results, entry lists and protest information can include:

  • the entrants' particulars
  • the protests
  • the race results
  • information on the location and race dates
  • race category
  • the entrants' first names and surnames including/excluding crew
  • licence number
  • boat name and class
  • sail number

Jachtclub Scheveningen holds these data for 5 years. At the end of this period, the race results will be archived for historical and statistical reasons.

Publication of Race Results

Race results will be shared with the entrants for organizational purposes.

The race results will also be published on www.manage2sail.com. Jachtclub Scheveningen has a legitimate interest in sharing the race results on account of the interest the sailors, teams and sponsors have in such publicity as well as for the promotion of water sports in general. If you have any objections to such publication, please contact the Rear Commodore Sailing at eissimmocliez.[antispam].@jachtclubscheveningen.com, stating your reasons.

Video and Photographic Footage

Photos and videos can be made during races. Footage with news and/or promotional value is published on www.jachtclubscheveningen.com and www.nsr.nl on the grounds of a legitimate interest that Jachtclub Scheveningen has in the promotion of the event, the organisation and water sports in general.

If you have any objections to such publication, please contact the Rear Commodore Sailing at eissimmocliez.[antispam].@jachtclubscheveningen.com, stating your reasons.

Photos and videos of children and photos and videos of amateur sports without any news and/or promotional value will, in principle, be shared with the entrants only. Publication of such materials requires the consent of the entrant or the entrant's parents or caregivers.

Jachtclub Scheveningen will hold these data for 5 years. At the end of this period, all video and photographic footage will be archived for historical and statistical reasons.

Third Parties

Jachtclub Scheveningen uses Manage 2 Sail to process race data. These organisations do not use the data for their own purposes and are required - under a data processing agreement - to carefully secure and process the data. Data are not processed outside the EEA.

In addition, personal data included in the entrants lists for organizational purposes - to carry out the participation agreement - are shared with the Watersportverbond so as to allow it to check the validity of the required licences.

Security

Jachtclub Scheveningen has taken all appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect the personal data being processed against loss and unlawful processing. For example, Manage 2 Sail has an authorisation policy in place and the network within which the data are processed is secured in accordance with current security standards. In addition, employees and volunteers are trained in the careful use of  personal data and the privacy policy is subject to periodic review.

Rights of Data Subjects

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data if we process your personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest, to withdraw your consent previously given and you have the right to access your personal data and to have it rectified or removed. Where relevant, you may ask us to restrict the processing of personal data or to transmit your personal data to yourself or to a third party.
